The Scottish Gymnastics Association set up a project which enabled them to support passionate gymnastics clubs to deliver club satellite projects, which had the intention to change lives through sport. Details of the scheme can be found here: https://www.scottishgymnastics.org/news/scottish-gymnastics-launch-changing-lives-fund-clubs
They received 9 applications to the fund, 5 projects fulfilled the aims of the scheme and progressed to funding being awarded. One of the successful applications was from Kilmarnock Acro GC. https://www.scottishgymnastics.org/changing-lives-funding-boost-for-kilmarnocks-easter-camp

Every year, the team at the University of Strathclyde Motorsport (USM) designs, builds, markets and races a single-seater racing car as part of the global Formula Student initiative, a series of international competitions focused on developing engineering and business talent in a practical, competitive and high-octane environment.

“The support from Witherby’s has been instrumental in helping the Scotland Women’s U19 squad become the first female Scotland cricket squad to qualify for a World Cup. It allowed for more playing and coaching opportunities in the lead-up to the qualifying tournament that made a significant difference to the quality of cricket which was played. The players and staff are very grateful and would like to offer their sincere thanks to Witherby’s for investing in and supporting the Cricket Scotland Women’s pathway.”

West Lothian Fencing Club is the lowest cost fencing club in Scotland. Often regarded as an elitist sport due to the price of kit, private lessons and club fees, Kevin Milne, head coach and internationalist said:
“Fencing should be accessible to anyone and it’s for this reason that our club lends out kit and keeps fees low. Our club grew rapidly since opening and we ran out of what was already second-hand kit to lend! Fortunately, Witherby Charitable Trust gave us a grant which allowed us to buy electrical scoring boxes, body wires and some larger electric jackets. It has meant that we could welcome new members with well-fitted kit and support Scotland’s only wheelchair fencer, too.”
Witherby Publishing Group Charitable Trust has been a strong supporter of Nevis Ensemble in its aim to take music to everyone, everywhere helping the organisation in different parts of its activity since 2018.

The Witherby Arts Festival, funded by the Trust, was designed to showcase the work of emerging artists. Recognising how few professional opportunities there are during the pandemic, all musicians were paid for their contributions and provided with a professional quality video of their performances to aid in their future careers.
The Summer season has come to a close and pre winter training has begun in the Turnhouse Camp. We had a busy summer with a number of Personal Best performances and podium finishes. The depth and experience of the group has grown massively. Turnhouse Hammer Academy has certainly established itself as one of the top throwing groups in the UK.
We look forward to another year of success with Witherby.
West Lothian Junior Netters is a very popular growing junior club. With the help of funding from the Witherby Publishing Group Charitable Trust, they have been able to purchase some new equipment and netball dresses.
The additional equipment will really help the juniors to thrive and progress their abilities to the next level by allowing them to complete harder drills and challenges. The dresses will give the girls a better sense of identity and feel like part of a team.
